After a master’s degree in geophysics and 12 years’ successful academic career (4 years as PhD student, 4 years as postdoc and 4 years as professor and group leader), I found a new way to live my passion for talent development, and moved to coaching and training. In addition to a Dr.sc., I hold a DAS in Coaching, CAS degrees in career counselling and higher education, and am a certified PERMA-Lead facilitator. My goal has always been to help and support others in their development, independent of the area – scientifically, personally or related to their career.
I have counselled around 300 early career scientists and other highly qualified experts with their career-related questions – from identifying relevant competencies, to career planning and the application process, or deciding between offers. In addition, more than 600 young researchers have participated in my courses and workshops on competencies, working strategies, career, and culture. Another ~100 leaders benefited from workshops, personality and leadership coaching or a mentoring program. Moreover, I count on >10 years’ teaching experience in science, and held hundreds of talks at conferences and for the general public.
In addition to >15 years’ experience as a project leader in research, education, and HR, I bring along several years’ strategic, personal and financial leadership experience. I am passionate about developing, implementing and evaluating courses, programs and concepts. Thanks to my science background, I have experience in designing and conducting experiments, analysing, visualising and interpreting qualitative or quantitative data. Combined with my ability to learn fast and keep an overview in complex situations, this experience is helpful when working on new topics and challenging projects.
Most importantly, I love aha moments – when clients gain new insights, when the data finally make sense, when new strategies and communication work, or when an endless back-and-forth gives way to a decision that feels right. I am curious what I can do to support you.
